Champadevi hiking is one of the most picturesque day hiking tours around Kathmandu Valley. It is hiking for about five hours, boasting the view of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan range on a clear day on the northern horizon. About an hour of the drive takes you to the beautiful town of Pharping, the hiking start point. The drive goes past a historical gorge through where all the water of Kathmandu Valley flows out, a beautiful lake in the wetland area of Taudaha, and goes past some local villages to reach Pharping. Once you are in Pharping, you can visit a Vishnu temple, a Buddhist monastery, and the historic cave of Guru Padmasambhava before you start hiking for the day. The hiking part is relatively easy. It takes roughly two hours to reach the top ridge of the hill, and once you are on the top, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayas and a stunning Kathmandu city view.
