Overview

The Lower Ganesh Himal Trekking, a segment of the majestic Ganesh Himal mountain range, graces the western horizon of Kathmandu. This trek, named after the elephant-headed Hindu deity symbolizing good fortune, provides a rewarding experience ideal for individuals with busy schedules.
Commencing your journey in Kathmandu, you'll embark on a picturesque drive along the Trishuli River in a Local bus, private van, or four-wheel drive, traversing simple roads. En route, you'll encounter a rich tapestry of Nepalese communities, including the Tamang, Dalit, Chhetri, and Bahun ethnic groups.
After a 5-hour drive from Kathmandu, you'll arrive at Samari Bhanjyang, your overnight resting place and the starting point of your Lower Ganesh Himal adventure. The subsequent day, following an early lunch, you'll set out on a 5-hour trek, where the warm smiles of the locals will greet you. As you journey through lush terraced farmlands, you'll have the opportunity to observe traditional farming practices.
The Lower Ganesh Himal trek immerses you in Nepalese culture, with small Buddhist monasteries on one side of your path and beautiful Hindu temples on the other, separated by a serene river. Vibrant prayer flags adorn quaint Buddhist chortens, and neatly arranged prayer stones invite trekkers to capture these enchanting moments. The Lower Ganesh Himal Range offers many photo opportunities, featuring scenic vistas, ornate stupas, and friendly locals.
Throughout the trek, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal peaks while gaining insight into the vibrant Tamang culture. This trek is celebrated for its diverse terrain, stunning landscapes, and the preservation of ethnic cultures, all framed against majestic snow-capped mountains. Descending to Jyamrung village, you'll be captivated by the awe-inspiring Ganesh Himal range, with peaks such as Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, and Ganesh IV standing tall in their pristine, snow-covered glory. Staying in Jyamrung village promises a transformative experience for those who relish engaging in local activities, including cooking and firewood collection. Additionally, you can explore the village's micro-hydropower facility, health centre, and school.

Itineraries

  • 01, Arrive in Kathmandu Nepal (1337 meters, 4385 Ft

    When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative at the Airport will be carrying a signboard with our company’s name and sometimes your name. Welcome by our representative at the Airport, and then you will be transferred to the hotel and checked in. For a while, take time to refresh. A trip briefing will follow later today, and the time will be notified to you by a member of our staff who will pick you up at the Airport. He will let you know about your tour and travel orientation. If you are tired from a long journey, take a rest if not. Then, please be ready to explore and relax in the important tourist hub, Thamel. For your convenience, I will let you know about some good restaurants, ATMs, money changers, supermarkets, and necessary gear shops for your trip. If you are late back out of our office time, we can reschedule for tomorrow morning or evening for the trip orientation.

  • 02, UNESCO World Heritage tour in Kathmandu and Trekking Preparation day(1337 meters, 4385 Ft

    After breakfast, we will take you for a day tour of cultural heritage monuments in Kathmandu Valley. The tour will give you a mixed insight into the history, culture, art, architecture, and spirituality of Kathmandu Valley. The sites include Swoyambhunath, aka Monkey Temple, The oldest of all places in Kathmandu Valley. Swoyambhunath is an important Buddhist spiritual site with over two thousand years of history. This site has gained a popular name as a monkey temple, as this small forested hill is a suitable habitat for hundreds of monkeys. The visit there will heighten your spiritual and cultural experience. Patan City, including Patan Durbar Square: A tour of the medieval city of Patan gives you a great insight into the ethnic Newari culture, Buddhist spirituality, religious harmony, art, and architecture while you stroll around the charismatic alleys taking you to magnificent local community squares known as Bahal and eventually leading you to an incredible medieval palace square. The monuments and skills of the local artisans displayed on those monuments in the square will stun you with their unbelievable charm. Boudhanath Stupa: The largest of its kind in the world, this magnificent stupa is a very important center of faith for the people following Tibetan Buddhism. This place is a lovely Circular Square with a stunning stupa in the middle, which spreads many spiritual vibrations around the atmosphere. Overnight hotel in KTM B/B.

  • 03, Kathmandu to Samari (1400m/4593ft)

    Today, after breakfast at your hotel, depart from Kathmandu early in the morning. Drive to Samari Bhanjyang (approximately 6-7 hours). Arrive in Samari with a beautiful drive, cross by many settlements, and settle into your guesthouse. Explore Closter Tamang Village and Overnight stay in Samari B/L/D.

  • 04, Samari to Gaira (1600m/5249ft)

    Start your Trek after breakfast. Trek from Samari to Gaira (approximately 4 -5 hours). The trail offers stunning views of the Ganesh Himal range. There are so many small valleys and Villages with gentle walks. Arrive in Gaira, a small village, and rest for the night in the Local homes, with research on the Tamang Community lifestyle and their custom Overnight stay in Gaira.

  • 05, Gaira to Marpak (1700m/5577ft)

    Start your Trek with a local breakfast. Trek from Gaira to Marpak (approximately 5-6 hours). Pass through lush forests and charming villages with an array of Chorten, and Waka is one of the best viewpoints for the valley mountains and ancient ruin Dobjong Durbar of Tamang King. Walking via the serene jungle and Reach Marpak, a traditional Gurung village, immerse in the local culture. Overnight stay in beautiful village Marpak.

  • 06, Marpak to Shalyankot (1900m/6234ft)

    After breakfast with a beautiful view in the Morning, Begin your Trek to Shalyankot gently down to Aakhu Khola, a broad valley view, and steep up to Karki Gaun. Continuous to Shalyankot, a historical religious site (approximately 6-7 hours). Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Arrive in Shalyankot, a picturesque village, and rest for the night. Overnight stay in Shalyankot.

  • 07, Shalyankot to Jyamrung (1600m/5249ft)

    After breakfast at the homestay at Salyankot, a Beautiful wide range of views, and Ganesh Himal and Manaslu, continue your Trek. Trek from Shalyankot to Jyamrung (approximately 5-6 hours). Pass through terraced fields and charming villages. Reach Jyamrung, a lovely village nestled in the hills. Overnight stay in Jyamrung.

  • 08, Jyamrung to Maidi Kot(1300m/4265ft)

    Start your Trek towards Maidi after breakfast. Trek from Jyamrung to Maidi (approximately 5-6 hours). Experience the hospitality of the local communities. Arrive in Maidi Kot and relax in your guesthouse. Overnight stay in Maidi.

  • 09, Midi (1400m/4593ft) to Salang (1100m/3609ft)

    After breakfast at Maidi, Start your Trek towards Salang. Trek from Midi to Salang Takes approximately 4-4.30 hours. Explore the unique culture and lifestyle of the local people. Arrive in Salang, a charming village surrounded by terraced fields. Overnight stay in Nalang.

  • 10, Salang to Kathmandu (1400m/4593ft)

    Bid farewell to the beautiful Nalang village and end of the trek, Trek to the nearest roadhead or take local transportation. Drive back to Kathmandu for approximately 4 hours. Arrive in Kathmandu and check into your hotel. Rest and relax after the Trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

  • 11, Departure

    Enjoy your final breakfast in Kathmandu. You may have free time for last-minute shopping or exploration, depending on your flight schedule. Check out from your hotel and proceed to the airport for your departure at least 3 hours before your flight is scheduled.
