Overview

Nagarjun day hiking starts from the base of Nagarjuna hill after a twenty-minute drive from Kathmandu. It is a nice five to six-hour consuming day hiking tour around Kathmandu Valley.

The Nagarjuna hike takes place in the Shivapuri National Park in Kathmandu. The uphill hike of about three hours takes you to the top of Nagarjun hill which is known as Jamacho for a breathtaking view of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan range. The hiking takes place on a forested hill thus providing a good chance for bird watching and different species of birds can be spotted during the hike up and downhill. This day trip is a great possibility to see a variety of bird species, wildlife, nature, and mountain views. The ascent of Jamacho Hill through a dense forest is undoubtedly an exhilarating hiking experience. Throughout the trip, you will spend all of your time in the wilderness. Since there are no shops in the forest, water and some food are compulsory to take with you.
