Fitness & Training

Climbing to high altitude regions, navigating through rugged wild trails, crossing 5000m Himalayan passes and walking on glaciers and ice, spending weeks after weeks in often inhospitable rural and mountainous landscapes are the features of Himalayan trekking and mountaineering.

Trekking and mountaineering are adventurous, demanding and challenging outdoor activities. Undertaking such a task will require you to be physically and mentally fit. That is why fitness and training are essential for you prior to getting involved in Himalayan adventure activities.

Any potential trekker or mountaineer are therefore recommended to take up fitness exercises such as running, jogging, gym, yoga, tai chi as part of their preparation for their trip. Depending on how high or far you will trek, your level of fitness has to be adjusted accordingly. You can either consult with your physical trainer or directly contact our experienced trekking leaders/guides for identifying your physical needs.
